Each of those units are produced by a set of contract manufacturers (CMs) who in turn purchases ingredient components from suppliers. They negotiate component prices directly with the material supplier but it’s the CM who actually orders the components.

They deliver orders for units via their ERP system that automatically triggers the appropriate workflows on the CM’s side, but the feedback loop is broken. The core systems of the CMs, suppliers, and our customer are largely isolated from each such that verification of purchases within the supply chain are inaccurate and slow.
